Growing up in St. Louis, Missouri, Jessica Dean inherited her passionate work ethic and drive from her father, who put in more than 80 hours a week building planes for McDonnell-Douglas. Ms. Dean worked as an IHOP waitress as a high school student and a college undergraduate. Securing dual Bachelors of Arts in economics and political science, she graduated magna cum laude from Boston University in 1999.
Jessica Dean subsequently attended the University of Texas School of Law in Austin, where she gained valuable insights into the art and science of situational analysis and problem-solving. She received her Juris Doctor cum laude and gained admission to the State Bar of Texas in 2003.
Although she has been based in Dallas since graduating from law school, Jessica Dean joined the State Bar of California in 2008 and the State Bar of Pennsylvania in 2012. She also holds membership in the American Association for Justice, the American Board of Trial Advocates, the International Academy of Dispute Resolution, and both the Texas and Dallas Trial Lawyers Association.
Over the years, Jessica Dean’s legal work has earned her recognition as a Texas Super Lawyers Honoree and a Texas Super Lawyers Rising Star. She has also ranked among the “Top 40 Under 40 Lawyers in Dallas” as well as the “Top Young Lawyers in Texas.”
Jessica Dean practiced with multiple Dallas law firms before joining with colleagues Amin Omar, Trey Branham, and Lisa Shirley to establish a private law firm with a dual focus on consumer and worker rights. From its origins in Dallas, Dean Omar Branham Shirley has expanded across the United States to represent average hardworking Americans who have suffered injuries or been exposed to danger due to the negligent or harmful activities of various corporate entities and their senior administrators.
Driven by the belief that the law should apply equally to all members of society, Jessica Dean is determined to hold companies of all sizes accountable for their criminal actions. “I want to use our justice system to enforce rules that are broken, important rules that are in place to protect people from serious harm,” she pledges. “While I have taken a path different from that of my parents and grandparents, I want to honor what they taught me in the work I do.”
