
Jordan P. Vick is a partner in the Commercial Litigation Department of the Seyfarth Shaw LLP’s Chicago office. Ms. Vick also serves on the firm’s Leadership Development Committee. Ms. Vick focuses her practice on complex commercial disputes, including those which involve business torts, breach of contract, breach of fiduciary duty, non-compete and non-solicitation agreements, trade secrets, requests for injunctive relief, the Computer Fraud and Abuse Act, unfair competition, shareholder buyout disputes, product liability and alleged violations of state and federal consumer protection statutes.
She also has extensive experience defending consumer class actions, such as those brought under the Telephone Consumer Protection Act, and writes and speaks frequently on these issues. While Ms. Vick is based in Chicago, she defends and prosecutes cases and arbitrations around the country. She has negotiated favorable settlements for her clients in commercial matters filed in state and federal court and drafted winning briefs on an array of substantive and procedural issues.
Ms. Vick is actively involved in the Chicago legal community. She is the President of the Chicago Chapter of the Federal Bar Association and a member of its Board of Directors and Executive Committee. Ms. Vick is also a Past President of the Northern District of Illinois Court Historical Association and a member of the Lawyers’ Club of Chicago.
In connection with her service to the FBA, Ms. Vick has worked with the Court to educate other practitioners regarding the new Mandatory Initial Discovery Pilot Program adopted by the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois in 2017.
Ms. Vick has also devoted a substantial amount of time to pro bono work. In May 2015, she was honored for her work as appointed counsel at the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois’s Sixteenth Annual Awards for Excellence in Pro Bono and Public Service.
From 2008 to 2010, Ms. Vick was a judicial law clerk to the Honorable Joan Humphrey Lefkow, a United States District Court Judge for the Northern District of Illinois, Eastern Division. While clerking, Ms. Vick gained experience working on both civil and criminal matters, including the high-profile criminal trial of former Chicago Police Commander Jon Burge, for which she served as the lead law clerk.
