Mark G. Strauss started with Weitz & Luxenberg in 1989. Four years later, he was called away to work on a class action lawsuit on behalf of a large number of mesothelioma victims. This legal battle was fought all the way to the U.S. Supreme Court and ended with a substantial settlement in 1997.
His work on the class action completed, Mr. Strauss then went on to co-found a law firm that achieved national prominence by representing mesothelioma patients. Mr. Strauss returned to Weitz & Luxenberg in 2015.
Mr. Strauss began the practice of law after completing law school in 1987. He holds a juris doctor degree from Washington University in St. Louis School of Law. Six years earlier, from the same university, Mr. Strauss earned a bachelor of science degree in business administration.
He devotes time to supporting AHRC New York City, a nonprofit organization that offers help and hope to approximately 15,000 individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
In his spare time, Mr. Strauss helps burnish the star-status of hip-hop artist Rev. Run and country rocker Gregg Allman by lending a hand with the musicians’ marketing and promotional efforts. Mr. Strauss is a devoted father of two.
