Mark T. Hurt is a native Bristolian, residing in Abingdon, Virginia. His practice areas include Personal Injury Law, Small Business Law, Whistleblowing, Estate Planning, Worker’s Compensation, Speeding Tickets, Reckless Driving, and representing whistleblowers. He is passionate about helping people.
He has a rich extensive litigation experience. He has tried cases in front of a jury and has argued appeals in Virginia, Tennessee, and federal courts. He has also argued two times in front of the nine justices of the United States Supreme Court.
Attorney Hurt has also been successful at reaching settlements for his clients in several cases, from multimillion-dollar settlements to cases involving a few thousand dollars.
Mark Hurt attended the University of Virginia and obtained his undergraduate degree in 1981. He joined Duke University and earned his law degree while graduating in the top ten percent of his class.
Before returning to the Tri-Cities, he practiced law working with large litigation law firms in Dallas, Texas, as well as Washington, D.C.
