Paul Holt Spitz is works at Law Office of Paul H. Spitz. Building on my experiences as a business owner and managing businesses, I started my law firm with the mind-set of setting up a lean operation and providing a more client-centric legal practice.
It is geared towards the particular needs of entrepreneurs, startups, and business owners, along every stage of the business’s development. We run a paperless office and take advantage of technology, including communication advances and cloud computing to enhance workflow and reduce overhead..
After graduating from Boston University School of Law, I stayed in Boston for several years, starting my career as a business lawyer at a mid-size law firm in the heart of Boston. With a strong desire to learn more about business, I took a sabbatical from practicing law to pursue an MBA, and graduated in 1995 from Indiana University’s Kelley School of Business.
My ventures in the business world took me across the country as a brand manager for a coffee and tea company and then as an entrepreneur, setting up a franchised picture framing business in the San Francisco Bay Area.
Owning my own business was a great learning experience because it required me to be involved with every aspect of the business. One moment I’m the company bookkeeper, the next moment I’m the chief salesman, then I’m working in the back on a picture frame, then trying to figure out marketing for the next three months.
If you are going to run a small business, you need to be willing to wear a lot of hats. It’s hard work, and not very glamorous, but it provides a great sense of accomplishment at the end of the day.
