Ms. Susan Jeanblanc Cohen is senior counsel in the Washington, D.C. office of Seyfarth Shaw LLP. She counsels and represents employers and management on a wide range of labor and employment matters. Ms. Cohen’s litigation experience includes single- and multiple-plaintiff lawsuits, class actions, arbitrations and administrative proceedings involving employment discrimination and harassment, retaliation, wage and hour, and common law claims. Ms. Cohen has worked with clients in a multitude of industries, with particular focus on health care, hospitality, and education clients.
Her current practice focuses primarily on traditional labor matters, including collective bargaining, arbitrations, and proceedings before the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB); counseling employers and providing training on a broad spectrum of employment-related topics, such as employee discipline and termination, internal complaints and investigations, employee leaves of absence and absenteeism, the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), the federal and D.C. Family and Medical Leave Acts (FMLA), and the D.C. Accrued Sick and Safe Leave Act (ASSLA), and employment applications, policies and handbooks; and handling charges before the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) and similar state and local agencies.
Ms. Cohen is a member of Seyfarth Shaw’s Workplace Counseling and Solutions and Labor and Employee Relations Practice Groups. She also serves on the Seyfarth Shaw Reduction in Force (RIF) Best Practices Team and the Absence Management and Accommodation Team.
