Alissa R. Pohlman focuses her practice on intellectual property counseling and litigation. With a background in mechanical engineering, she has represented clients in the areas of medical devices, semiconductors, computer networking systems, consumer products, and financial services.
Alissa’s intellectual property counseling experience includes drafting freedom to operate opinions, negotiating licenses and settlement agreements, and advising on patent portfolio acquisitions. She has worked closely with in-house counsel and engineers to develop non-infringing design alternatives and patentable features.
Alissa has extensive litigation experiencing as well, and has represented clients in patent infringement litigations in the Eastern District of Texas, the Western District of Wisconsin, the Northern District of California, and the Northern District of Illinois.
Her litigation experience includes all aspects of patent infringement litigation, ranging from discovery, to claim construction, through trial. Alissa has also managed global patent and trademark portfolios. She is a registered Patent Attorney with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.
