Bryan Renehan

Family law has been the sole professional focus for Bryan Renehan since 1977. An aggressive and systematic approach to family law is the best way to characterize Mr. Renehan’s representation of clients. He is celebrated by clients, journalists, and fellow practitioners as one of the area’s best divorce attorneys. Mr. Renehan’s organized and professional approach helps to maximize a client’s result by settlement or, when necessary, by litigation.

The Maryland Bar Association frequently selects Mr. Renehan to teach Family Law courses to Maryland lawyers. He has given seminars on topics such as taxes in divorce, valuation of businesses, division of pensions, custody, and alimony. Since 1985 he has taught an annual course named the “Family Practice Update” which reviews all Family Law cases and new legislation each year.

Mr. Renehan graduated from Fairfield University with a degree in economics and from New England School of Law having concentrated in trial practice, business planning and tax. His career in Family Law began in 1977 after clerking for a circuit court judge in Montgomery County.

In addition to his passion for the law, Mr. Renehan’s outside interests include endurance sports, golf, woodworking and photography. He has run more than 20 marathons including qualifying for the Boston marathon on three occasions. He challenged himself with numerous Triathlons including the Escape from Alcatraz in San Francisco and the Lake Placid Ironman in upstate New York. His current challenge is climbing Mt. Kilimanjaro.
