Charles “Charley” Grimes is a transportation litigator in the Firm’s Birmingham office, focusing on the defense of clients in the trucking industry. Mr. Grimes is a trial attorney with 20 years of experience in representing corporate clients in all phases of high-exposure litigation. He has tried 26 cases in his career, 14 of which were tried to verdict before a jury. He has tried personal injury and wrongful death cases in both state and federal courts.
Mr. Grimes’ practice is primarily dedicated to the representation of motor carriers in high exposure litigation. He also has many years of experience in representing the interests of railroads and has extensive experience in FELA, grade crossing, and derailment litigation. Additionally, Mr. Grimes has defended several product liability and medical negligence cases.
Mr. Grimes was raised in Alabama, and his family has deep roots in the state. He attended Birmingham-Southern College and the University of Alabama School of Law. Mr. Grimes is admitted to practice in all Alabama state courts, as well as the U.S. District Courts for the Northern, Middle, and Southern Districts of Alabama.
