Chris S. Mehring is an attorney in the Milwaukee, Chicago and Detroit offices of Goldstein & McClintock. Mr. Mehring has practiced law for over 15 years, focusing his practice primarily on finance transactions in the areas of commercial real estate and asset based and tax exempt (NMTC) lending.
In addition, Mr. Mehring has extensive experience with various Small Business Administration (SBA) financing programs, including representing local CDCs on their SBA 504 loans as well as having prepared and reviewed SBA 7(a) loan packages and guaranty requests on behalf of lenders.
Mr. Mehring represents several national, regional, and local banking institutions and borrowers in documenting, negotiating, and closing loan transactions. These loans include term loans, construction loans, equipment loans, syndicated multi-agented loans, SBA 7(a) and 504 loans, and loan modifications. Mr. Mehring also represents various lenders in their forbearance agreements and workout situations with their customers.
Finally, Mr. Mehring represents a nationwide moving company acting as outside general counsel. This work includes contractual negotiations with its agents and third party vendors, financing arrangements with its lenders, and compliance issues with the regulatory agency of the household goods industry. Mr. Mehring also performs general real estate work, assisting clients with all steps of sophisticated real estate transactions, from negotiating purchase and lease agreements to overseeing closings.
Prior to joining Goldstein & McClintock, Mr. Mehring worked for Mallery & Zimmerman S.C. and most recently, Whyte Hirschboeck Dudek, each in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Additional past experience includes attorney positions at Katten Muchin Rosenman and Goldberg Kohn, each in Chicago, Illinois.
