In 2014 and 2013, the San Diego Daily Transcript recognized Mr. Ham among San Diego’s “Top Attorneys” in Criminal Law. Mr. Ham is also rated by Super Lawyers.
Mr. Ham is licensed to practice law in the State of California and in the United States District Court for the Southern District of California. In 1999, he earned a bachelor of arts from the University of California at Riverside and in 2002, earned a Juris Doctor from California Western School of Law. In 2002, at age 25, Mr. Ham was admitted and licensed to practice law in the state of California.
Mr. Ham practices law in the state and federal courts. He has handled hundreds of cases, ranging from homicide to complex mortgage fraud. He has also handled many high-profile cases, including kidnapping for ransom, conspiracy to commit murder, and drug trafficking.
Ham has successfully represented individuals facing prison sentences of 25 years to life, as well as life without the possibility of parole. He has won dismissals before and during jury trials, at preliminary hearings, and after prevailing at speedy trial and suppression hearings.
He has tried multiple cases resulting in not guilty verdicts and has tried cases in Federal District Court and each of the San Diego Court Divisions. Mr. Ham speaks fluent Spanish and began his criminal defense legal experience as a law clerk at Federal Defenders of San Diego and as a graduate law clerk for the San Diego Public Defender’s Office.
Mr. Ham entered private practice in 2003 when he joined a criminal defense law firm. In 2005, Mr. Ham left the criminal defense firm to start his own criminal defense practice, focusing primarily on defending his clients with the highest level of representation.
