Daniel Garcia is a licensed attorney in Mexico with more than 15 years of combined experience in corporate law, litigation and regulatory compliance. Daniel served for nearly eight years as in-house counsel for PEMEX, Mexico’s state-owned oil and gas company.
Daniel represented PEMEX and its subsidiary companies as first chair attorney in hundreds of civil, commercial and agrarian trials and appeals, including administrative proceedings involving complex contract, environmental and tort claims.
Daniel also provided legal counsel and risk management advice to ensure PEMEX business activities complied with laws, regulations and internal policies. He also reviewed and/or drafted contracts and agreements to support PEMEX’s upstream, midstream and downstream activities.
Daniel also served as Legal Head for the Mexican subsidiary of a multinational financial services business based in UK and listed on the London Stock Exchange. In such capacity, he managed and supervised 35 attorneys across Mexico with primary focus on corporate and litigation matters.
He also provided business counseling and legal advice to London-based executives, lawyers and upper management on diverse legal issues impacting company-wide activities, including business transactions, corporate law, contracts, foreign investment law, intellectual property, finance, commercial, labor laws and regulatory compliance matters. He was also in charge of monitoring and maintaining knowledge of emerging legal regulatory issues in Mexico.
