Danielle J. Moss is an associate in the Labor & Employment Law Department and a member of the Employment Litigation & Arbitration Group, the Employment Counseling & Training Group and Wage Hour Practice Group. She focuses her practice on litigating highly-sensitive harassment and discrimination claims and conducting high-profile investigations.
Danielle has vast expertise in employment matters, representing employers in disputes involving harassment, discrimination, retaliation, wrongful discharge, defamation, breach of contract, restrictive covenant, and data security issues.
She regularly represents clients in federal and state courts, as well as in proceedings before the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, New York State Division of Human Rights, New York City Commission on Human Rights, JAMS, the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority, and other federal and state agencies.
Danielle also counsels clients on employment-related laws and on implementing and enforcing personnel policies and procedures. Danielle provides clients with advice on delicate #MeToo issues and has been praised for her creativity in navigating and helping to resolve these difficult matters. Recognized as a thought leader in the industry, Danielle frequently presents on legal developments concerning the #MeToo era.
Beyond her litigation expertise, what sets Danielle apart is her passion for counseling clients on employment law matters including, but not limited to, anti-discrimination and non-harassment training, the proper receipt and investigation of complaints, the proper handling of internal investigations, and the importance of diversity & inclusion across industries. After conducting a recent anti-harassment training, the client described Danielle as, “charming and insightful, well-spoken, relaxed, and highly informative without being condescending or confusing she really broke it down into easily digestible bits. Prior to joining Proskauer, Danielle was a felony district attorney at the Kings County District Attorney’s Office, where she prosecuted violent felonies and managed complex sex trafficking and identity theft investigations.
By leveraging the valuable insights Danielle gained through this experience, she is able to better assist clients navigating government investigations. In her pro bono practice, Danielle remains passionate about pursuing causes that protect and advance women’s and victim’s rights.
