Mr. Eric J. Janson is a partner in the Labor & Employment Department of Seyfarth Shaw LLP. He has extensive experience representing management in single and multi-plaintiff employment litigation before federal and state courts, including matters arising under Title VII of the Civil Rights Act, the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), the Age Discrimination in Employment Act (ADEA), the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA), the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA), and other federal and state statutes.
His practice also includes assisting clients with employment-related tort claims, including defamation, fraud, tortious interference, as well as the enforcement and defense of non-solicitation and non-competition agreements.
Mr. Janson also regularly counsels employers on a wide-variety of employment matters, including workplace investigations of claims of discrimination and harassment, leave and accommodation requests, employee discipline and discharge, and employment policies and handbooks.
Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Janson served as a Special Assistant United States Attorney with the Department of Justice where he represented federal agencies in civil litigation before the federal district and appellate courts. He also served as lead counsel in employment litigation proceedings before the Equal Opportunity Commission (EEOC) and the Merit Systems Protection Board (MSPB) while working for the National Gallery of Art.
