Frank X. Schoen focuses his practice on Business Law and has extensive experience in providing counsel to clients in the industries of Power & Energy, Oil & Gas, and Infrastructure. He works at the New York office of the law firm, White & Case LLP. He is a part of the firm’s Asset Finance, Project Finance, Infrastructure, and Energy group.
He majorly advises sponsors and all types of financial institutions including banks, investment firms, etc. in matters concerning financing, development, construction, acquisition, and sale of energy and infrastructure assets.
Schoen went to the Brown University and completed his Bachelor’s in Arts in Business Economics and Philosophy in the year 2000. He attended the New York University School of Law and obtained his Juris Doctorate in 2005.
While studying there, he won the Edmond Cahn Law Review Award for his outstanding contribution to Law Review, Lawrence Lederman/Milbank Tweed Fellowship in Law, and Business Robert McKay Scholar for being in top 25% after four semesters.
After obtaining the license to practice law in the state of New York, he joined the law firm Cravath, Swaine, & Moore LLP as an Associate and focused in areas like in M&A, real estate and capital markets transactions. He also represented renewable energy company First Solar, Inc. for their initial public offering, while working there.
Frank Schoen joined First Solar, Inc. in 2008 as an In-House Counsel, and concentrated on the construction, sale, and development of their utility-scale solar power projects in the North American region. He started working as an Associate with major international law firm Latham & Watkins in 2010 and focused on project finance transactions in the power sector. He joined his current law firm White & Case LLP in 2014.
