Gregory C. Barr, who originally joined the firm as a summer associate, currently represents lenders and borrowers involved in a variety of transactions, including syndicated loans and acquisition financings.
Prior to joining the debt finance practice group, Greg’s practice focused on mergers and acquisitions. He also offers experience in general corporate law and trust and estate matters.
Before attaining his law degree, Greg was a legal extern for the Antitrust Division of the U.S. Department of Justice. He also assisted Judge Marvin Aspen of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois as an extern.
Greg attended Northwestern University School of Law on a merit-based scholarship and served as an articles editor of the Journal of Technology and Intellectual Property. He was also vice president and treasurer of a Catholic law students group at Northwestern.
In addition to his law degree, Greg holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees in economics. Prior to earning his master’s degree, Greg worked at a regulatory writing company in Delaware and interned on Capitol Hill.
