James Dean Funnell Jr.

Jim Funnell’s practice is limited to special needs planning for family members with disabilities, estate and trust planning, and estate and trust administration. He is a principal member of the Westport, Connecticut law firm of Hermenze & Marcantonio LLC.

Jim is a Fellow of the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel.  He was the editor of the Estates and Probate Newsletter (a Connecticut Bar Association continuing legal education publication for attorneys) for twenty years.

He is a member of PLAN’s Board of Directors, and is the Chairman of PLAN’s Trust Committee.   Jim lives in Redding, Connecticut, with his wife, Sally. They have two adult children, one lives in Washington, D.C, and the other attends college in Rochester, New York.

Jim was an alpine climber and technical rock climber for over 35 years. He now enjoys sailing and scuba diving, and particularly enjoys diving on ocean ship wrecks and purpose sunk ships.
