James N. Floyd

James N. Floyd, Jr. is a business litigator who advises clients in commercial litigation and business dispute resolution before Florida’s state and federal courts. He has litigated a broad range of commercial disputes including breach of contract claims, business fraud, actions alleging professional negligence and breach of fiduciary duty, real estate and title matters, insurance disputes, and matters arising from the Affordable Care Act.

Before entering private practice, James served as a law clerk for The Honorable Charles J. Kahn, Jr., United States District Court for the Northern District of Florida. While in law school, James clerked for the United States Department of Justice, Civil Division, in Washington, D.C., and worked as a legal intern for the American Bar Association, also in Washington, D.C.

He also worked as student attorney in the D.C. Law Students in Court legal clinic, where he represented D.C. residents in landlord/tenant and small claims matters. James served as the projects editor for the Federal Circuit Bar Journal, was on the Alternative Dispute Resolution Skills Board, and was a J.B. & Maurice C. Shapiro public service fellowship recipient.

James is a member of ImpactJAX, the young professionals organization of the JAX Chamber, and is a member of the American Bar Association, Jacksonville Bar Association, and Young Lawyers Section of the Jacksonville Bar Association. James is actively involved with Jacksonville Area Legal Aid and was recognized for his exceptional pro bono service in 2017.
