In his globally recognized intellectual property practice, Jason Mueller represents clients in foreign and domestic intellectual property matters, including patent and trademark prosecution, litigation and post-grant proceedings. He also provides counsel on patent matters, including opinions, licensing and due diligence, with a focus in the mechanical, electrical and electro-mechanical arts. Managing complex cases, Jason assembles teams that litigate effectively against larger, high-profile firms.
Jason handles IP issues in a wide range of technologies, including manufacturing equipment and systems, oil and gas systems and tools, automotive devices and systems, computer devices and peripherals, gaming technologies, consumer goods, medical devices, composite materials and power systems. Serving a broad range of clients, from multinational corporations to universities, Jason develops, manages and protects global patent and trademark portfolios.
With previous work experience as a mechanical engineer and an engineering consultant for various industries, Jason possesses a solid technical base and the business experience to gain an exhaustive understanding of companies’ technologies and business challenges. In his high-level work, he synthesizes information and makes it accessible quickly and efficiently. Adept at helping clients apply technologies to a real-world setting, he helps clients boost their bottom lines through prudent IP strategies.
Although some clients are technically oriented while others need layman explanations, Jason always strives to use clear language that increases understanding on both sides. Effectiveness in communication is essential in judge and jury patent infringement and other matters, where it’s imperative for him to translate complex legal concepts to best advocate for his clients’ rights.
Previously, Jason worked at the US Patent and Trademark Office. He lived and worked in New York City and in Europe, where he advised some of the largest technology-based companies in the world.
