
Jessica Lutkenhaus represents corporations and individuals in criminal defense matters, as well as civil and government regulatory litigation. She has substantial experience in government and internal investigations.
Ms. Lutkenhaus’ experience includes the recent representation of a financial institution in parallel civil and criminal investigations conducted by the SEC and the DOJ; a major mortgage lender in connection with commercial breach of contract and fraud claims in federal district court; and an individual criminal defendant in a racketeering conspiracy action.
In addition, Ms. Lutkenhaus has counseled and represented clients on issues including workplace discrimination and harassment, Administrative Procedure Act litigation, and environmental regulations governing property renovations that disturb lead paint. Ms. Lutkenhaus currently assists on an independent compliance monitorship for a major healthcare company.
Prior to joining the firm, Ms. Lutkenhaus served as a law clerk for the Honorable Lucy H. Koh of the Northern District of California and the Honorable Duane Benton of the US Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit. While attending law school, she interned in the Office of the Legal Adviser in the US Department of State, the New York State Office of the Attorney General, and the Legal Resources Centre in Cape Town, South Africa.
Ms. Lutkenhaus maintains an active pro bono practice. She currently represents a pro bono client in the Inter-American Commission on Human Rights, alleging numerous violations of the American Convention for Human Rights. Recently, Ms. Lutkenhaus also successfully represented a veteran seeking benefits under the Department of Veterans Affairs’ Family Caregivers Program.
