Katie Wright Morrone is an associate in Venable’s Commercial Litigation Group, where she represents clients in various complex civil matters, such as breach of contract claims, various tort causes of action, partnership and other business entity disputes, consumer financial protection investigation and litigation, and general litigation issues. She also has experience briefing and arguing in various federal courts of appeals.
Katie is experienced in all stages of litigation, from case initiation through post-trial briefing. She has extensive knowledge and experience in civil discovery, including complex e-discovery and document review efforts, drafting and responding to written discovery requests, and preparation for and defending depositions. She also has wide-ranging experience researching and drafting discovery and dispositive motions.
Katie has been engaged in extremely high-profile and confidential matters and is particularly sensitive to, and adept at managing, the competing interests clients must balance during litigation.
Prior to attending law school, Katie was a legal assistant at a prominent firm in Washington, DC, where she assisted with mass insurance litigation, managed document reviews and productions, and coordinated logistics for trial teams.
While in law school, she served as a legal intern to the Honorable Judge Ramsey Johnson and the Honorable Judge Peter Krauthamer, both at the District of Columbia Superior Court.
She also served as Executive Editor of her law review, managing a staff of one hundred fellow students and overseeing the editing and publishing of six editions of the American University Law Review.
