Kurt Arnold has been recognized as one of the leading maritime lawyers in the country by numerous national publications. Kurt’s hard work has also led the National Law Journal to recognize Arnold & Itkin LLP as one of the top 50 elite firms nationwide in 2016.
Kurt believes results matter. Co-founding Arnold & Itkin at the age of 25, Kurt has advocated for countless families and has successfully recovered billions in verdicts and settlements. Kurt has fought time after time against major corporations, insurance companies, and employers to secure justice on behalf of his clients. His success can be seen in his history of legal victories—including numerous multi-million jury verdicts in excess of $10 million and hundreds of settlements exceeding $1 million.
As a highly skilled and zealous lawyer, Kurt has obtained the largest single-plaintiff personal injury verdict in the state of Louisiana ($117 million), a record-setting $29 million settlement for a Mississippi family who lost a loved one working offshore, a $44 million verdict in a crane accident case in Texas, and the record verdict in Hawaii of $41 million, among many others.
Recently, Kurt won multiple 8-figure verdicts against a global energy corporation when a plant explosion left dozens of workers injured. The company refused to take responsibility and offer a fair settlement when they were clearly at fault, so Kurt immediately took the case to court. After winning record-setting verdicts back to back, the Defendant decided to settle with the rest of Kurt’s clients for ten times more than they originally offered.
After Hurricane Ike and Harvey, insurance companies throughout the Gulf unfairly denied, delayed, or underpaid claims from families and businesses. As a result, our clients were denied relief when they were most desperate—a common tactic insurers use to pressure people into giving up on their claims. Kurt had the privilege of holding insurance companies accountable for their unethical tactics in court—helping our clients recover everything they had lost.
