Lara Wilcox

Lara Wilcox is an experienced litigator who cares very deeply for her clients and strives for the best possible result in every case. She represents individuals in matters related to medical negligence, nursing home neglect, automobile motorcycle and bicycle collisions, injuries from dangerous animals, traumatic brain injuries, wrongful death, injuries on land, and construction site injuries.

Lara earned her Bachelor of Arts in Communication from Western Washington University in 2002, with a minor in Spanish. During her undergraduate studies, she served as a member of the WWU Policy Debate Team and interned for the Whatcom County Public Defender where she worked on juvenile and at-risk youth cases, dependency proceedings, and cases involving felony assault and murder.

Lara went on to obtain a Paralegal degree and worked as a Legal Assistant, gaining invaluable experience with catastrophic injury cases involving medical malpractice, nursing home neglect, birth injuries, police misconduct, firearms negligence, product liability, injuries on land, construction site injuries, gas and propane explosion injuries, and auto collisions.

Lara’s invaluable Legal Assistant experience motivated her to further pursue her legal career to protect and defend the rights of individuals harmed by others. She went on to attend Gonzaga University School of Law and graduated with her Juris Doctor in 2009. During law school, Lara served as a member of the Phi Delta Phi organization.

She interned for the Spokane County Prosecuting Attorney, working on cases involving vehicular crimes including vehicular assault and manslaughter. She worked as a Legal Research and Writing Research Assistant to Professor Lauren Winters and earned a CALI Award for the highest grade in Appellate Writing.

Lara also interned for Gonzaga University Legal Assistance Law Clinic, representing indigent individuals as a Rule 9 Intern in cases involving misdemeanor Driving with Suspended License and Hit and Run charges, consumer law, family law, estate planning, and probate.

Lara is admitted to practice in Washington, Idaho, and the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Washington. She has argued cases before the Division II Court of Appeals and Washington State Supreme Court. She is aa member of the American Association for Justice, and an Eagle Member of the Washington State Association for Justice where she serves on the Development Committee and as a member of Women of WSAJ.

Lara grew up on Vashon Island where she was an avid equestrian and cross-country runner. In their spare time, Lara and her husband Jon enjoy sailing, scuba diving, biking, skiing, and snowshoeing.
