
Matthew Cassilly is an associate in the Baltimore office of Baker Donelson. Mr. Cassilly concentrates his practice in construction and general business litigation matters. He represents owners, general contractors, subcontractors, and suppliers in all aspects of construction disputes, including contract formation, payment disputes, construction defect cases, mechanics’ liens, payment and performance bond claims, and retainage issues.
Mr. Cassilly has also represented Class I, Short Line and passenger railroads in defense of employee injury and occupational disease claims under the Federal Employers’ Liability Act, as well as claims of traumatic injury by passengers, trespassers, and individuals involved in crossing incidents.
Mr. Cassilly previously served as a judicial law clerk to the Honorable Leo E. Green, Jr., of the Circuit Court for Prince George’s County.

Representative Matters : Obtained the dismissal of a personal injury claim on behalf of a Class I railroad in the United States District Court for the District of Maryland through the use of a preliminary motion to dismiss for insufficiency of process under the Maryland Rules of Civil Procedure.
