Matthew English

The Law Offices of Matthew G. English has been serving employees, including federal and state government employees, students, teachers, professors, and small business owners across San Diego County and throughout California since 2006.

Matthew Gene English is a graduate of the University of San Diego School of Law, where he graduated with Honors in Trial Advocacy. He completed his undergraduate studies at Humboldt State University (BA, Philosophy). Mr. English is licensed to practice in all state trial and appellate courts in California as well as the U.S. District Courts for the Southern District and Central District of California.

After graduation, Mr. English gained extensive courtroom experience working in a civil division of the San Diego County District Attorney. Upon entering private practice, Mr. English expanded his experience in civil litigation, with an emphasis on employment litigation and education law. In 2006, he opened his own practice.

He has successfully tried numerous cases to both jury and bench, in state and federal court. He is arbitration and an abundant variety of administrative hearings. He is a tenacious and principled advocate for the just rights of his clients.

His current practice emphasizes employment law, employment litigation and civil trials. He is a member of the Labor and Employment Law Sections of the San Diego County Bar Association and the State Bar of California.
