Max Selfridge is an associate in the litigation department of Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati. His practice focuses on a diverse set of issues, including intellectual property, internet and technology, trade secrets, complex commercial litigation, and white collar and government investigations.
Max has represented clients in federal and state trial courts, appellate courts, and in mediations. Previously, Max was a member of the team that represented a prominent internet real estate website in a trade secret action. The case was litigated over multiple years and concluded on the first day of trial with a settlement of $130 million.
Additionally, he was a key member of a lean trial team that successfully defended the managing member of several LLCs against breach of fiduciary claims. After a multi-day bench trial, the team secured a full judgment in its clients favor, including winning on the clients’ cross-claims and being awarded a substantial attorneys’ fee judgment.
Max maintains a robust pro bono practice. He was a key member of small trial team that achieved a remarkable verdict in favor of its client, a prisoner in the California Correctional system. The jury awarded compensatory and punitive damages resulting from an incident where the prisoner had his constitutional rights violated by correctional officers while incarcerated.
Prior to joining the firm, Max worked as an associate at a large private law firm, a law clerk in the Special Prosecutions Section of the Los Angeles City Attorney’s Office, and was an intern for Congressman John Garamendi in his Washington, D.C., office.
While attending law school, Max served as Professor Lee Epstein’s teaching assistant for her Constitutional Law class.
