Michael Jusczyk is an associate in the Litigation Department of Seyfarth Shaw LLP’s Boston office. As a member of the Consumer Financial Services Litigation, and Bankruptcy Litigation groups, Mr. Jusczyk focuses on representing the interests of commercial lenders in foreclosure and bankruptcy matters, along with defensive litigation alleging violations under state and federal financial regulation statutes.
He also advises large national banks on compliance with federal and state regulations related to loan servicing, mortgage foreclosure, and loss mitigation. Mr. Jusczyk has a track record of successfully defending his clients in state and federal court through dispositive motions, including several recent dismissals in which a borrower challenges the validity of various foreclosure notices, and through arbitration or mediation, where appropriate.
Mr. Jusczyk is also a member of the Commercial Litigation group and represents companies in employment matters, including defense of class action suits, and business-to-business contractual disputes. He has significant experience in the personal injury sphere, having successfully defended business and individuals against claims arising out of motor vehicle accidents, slip-and-falls, workplace accidents, failure to warn, and alleged product defects.
He has engaged in related coverage litigation and defended insurers against bad faith and unfair claims settlement practices claims. Mr. Jusczyk works on a pro bono basis with the non-profit organization K.I.N.D. (Kids in Need of Defense) to provide representation to unaccompanied minors in immigration and guardianship proceedings.
Before joining Seyfarth, Mr. Jusczyk was an associate attorney at two smaller Boston law firms, and has completed clerkships for the Rhode Island Trial Courts and for the Honorable O. Rogeriee Thompson of the United States Court of Appeals for the First Circuit.
