Nicole (Nikki) Sodano is an associate at LK and part of the firm’s asbestos litigation team. Nikki specializes in the initial intake of potential asbestos related cases. She has met with and helped hundreds of people affected by mesothelioma, often immediately after they’ve been given their diagnosis.
She understands the shock, confusion and devastation individuals and their families feel when they are told that they or a loved one has mesothelioma. Nikki is usually the first person from LK who our clients meet. She helps individuals identify how, where or why they could’ve been exposed to asbestos over their lifetime.
She helps them navigate the legal process, assures their rights are preserved and evaluates their potential claim. Nikki also works in the Bankruptcy and Settlement departments at LK. She assures that our clients receive compensation they are rightfully owed.
Nikki is licensed to practice law in New York, New Jersey, Florida, Washington D.C., and the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida. Prior to joining LK, she worked for a Florida based law firm, where she practiced commercial litigation.
Nikki graduated from Barry University Dwayne O. Andreas School of Law in 2012. While at Barry Law, Nikki was the Vice President of the Student Bar Association, as well as a member of the Barry Trial Team. Nikki graduated with an Honors Certification in Environmental Law, Earth Jurisprudence and Justice.
Nikki is a double alumna of the University of Central Florida. She earned her Masters of Science, with honors, from the University of Central Florida majoring in Criminal Justice. She was on the Dean’s list every semester and was inducted into the Criminal Justice Honors Society, Alpha Phi Sigma. While a graduate student, Nikki participated in the Phi Alpha Delta National Trial Team competition, where she helped her team place Top 3 in the Country.
She also studied abroad in Nosara, Costa Rica, where she participated in community improvement projects. Nikki helped revitalize a local school, update their computer systems and performed beach cleanup. She also taught English to elementary children and spent time mentoring them and helping them read books in English.
Nikki earned a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Central Florida in Criminal Justice. She was on the Dean’s List and selected to participate in the LEAD Scholars program. The LEAD Scholars program at UCF is a selective, two-year leadership development program for students committed to academic excellence and making a difference in the world around them.
Nikki is an animal lover and owns three Shih Tzu’s, two of which were rescued. She volunteers pro-bono to assist animal rescue organizations with legal issues. She also helps foster and rehome animals in need.
