Patrick Mulqueen has extensive experience representing insurers, professionals, and companies in commercial coverage, professional and products liability, personal injury, and other cases.
Whether as lead defense counsel or monitoring counsel, Patrick has worked with individual and organizational clients at every stage of the legal process — developing litigation strategy, managing fact and expert discovery, conducting depositions, handling pre-trial court conferences and arguments, and arguing appeals.
Patrick has a wealth of experience litigating cases in state and federal trial and appellate courts, including declaratory judgment actions, insurance producer negligence suits, and attorney malpractice actions.
Patrick has advised and represented clients in matters involving a wide range of insurance coverage areas, including directors and officers liability, bad faith, commercial general liability, excess and umbrella coverage, and errors and omissions liability. He has served as coverage counsel to numerous excess and primary insurers, monitoring exposure and coverage issues in high-value cases.
During his third year at Brooklyn Law School, Patrick was selected to serve as a student prosecutor at the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of New York, prosecuting petty offenses in federal District Court under the supervision of Assistant U.S. Attorneys.
He was also an Associate Managing Editor of The Brooklyn Law Review. After graduating cum laude, Patrick served as a law clerk to the Honorable Jerome M. St. John of the New Jersey Appellate Division.
Patrick assisted in all aspects of judicial review, conducting research and drafting memoranda, and helping to draft appellate decisions. These behind-the-bench insights into judicial decision-making, appellate procedure, and the analysis of evidentiary records have been an invaluable aid to Patrick in his later roles as litigation and coverage counsel.
