Pierce G. Hand is a member of our Commercial Litigation practice team. Mr. Hand focuses his practice on representing financial institutions in complex litigation involving loan servicing claims, federal lending laws and regulations, and various commercial tort actions. His practice also includes commercial contract disputes and insurance litigation in both the courts and arbitration settings. Mr. Hand is an active member of the firm’s LGBT Affinity Group and Lawyers of Color Affinity Group.
Mr. Hand earned his J.D. from Georiga State University College of Law. While in law school, he served as Lead Articles Editor of the Georgia State University Law Review, Student Attorney as a member of the Student Trial Lawyers Association, and judicial intern for the Honorable Richard W. Story, Northern District of Georgia, and the Honorable Madeline H. Haikala, Northern District of Alabama. He also received CALI Excellence for the Future Awards, which are given to students who earn the highest grade in a law school course, in Bankruptcy and Mediation.
Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Hand worked with the Executive Director of the State Bar of Georgia Diversity Program to execute the State Bar’s annual Pipeline Program. From 2011 to 2013, he worked as a high school educator with Teach For America in Atlanta, and he remains passionate about improving education and supporting local communities.
