Sarah D. Schlossberg’s practice is focused on a wide variety of complex commercial litigation matters, including contract disputes, class actions, professional malpractice, products liability, real estate litigation, construction litigation, environmental contamination, accounting malpractice and securities litigation.

Recent matters Sarah has handled include defending two trust companies in a breach of fiduciary duty and breach of contract action in federal court; representing a cabinet manufacturer in a contract dispute with a distributor in Pennsylvania state court; filing confessions of judgment to evict and recover lost revenue from holdover tenants on commercial property; defending a commercial real estate owner against allegations that its defective drainage systems caused flooding of nearby apartments and condominiums, brought as a class action on behalf of several hundred tenants; and, representing a retailer in a class action for alleged violations of the Telephone Consumer Protection Act.

Sarah has tried several cases to judgment and has argued before federal and state courts. Sarah is committed to giving back to the community and has handled numerous pro bono matters throughout her career. Through the Support Center for Child Advocates, Sarah routinely serves as an advocate for children in foster care.

She has also litigated several prisoner civil rights cases, one of which resulted in a verdict in favor of her client following a two day jury trial. Sarah has been listed on Pennsylvania’s First Judicial District Pro Bono Honor Roll every year since 2007 and she received the Samuel E. Klein Pro Bono Award in 2008.

In addition to her litigation practice, Sarah assists with administrative duties within the Commercial Litigation Department, supporting and encouraging the growth of the attorneys within the four practice groups in the department. On a more global level, she serves as Cozen O’Connor’s lateral integration coordinator for the Litigation Section to facilitate the transition of new members and shareholders.

Sarah received her Bachelor of Science from Bradley University in 1999, where she was a member of the national championship speech team. She received her law degree from Duke University in 2004, where she was an articles editor for the Duke Journal of General Law & Policy and an executive committee member on the Moot Court Board.

Immediately following law school, Sarah clerked for Pennsylvania Supreme Court Justice Frank J. Montemuro, Jr., sitting by designation on the Pennsylvania Superior Court. She went on to work as an associate at another Am Law 100 firm before joining Cozen O’Connor in 2010.
