Absolute garbage person.
As the father of 3 young children, I’m so disgusted by how this attorney chooses a win over the best interests of children involved with her cases. She needs to be disbarred and possibly worse. She harassed mothers of infants because they choose a difficult course that is BEST FOR THEIR CHILD. I’ve struggled with custody in the past, but no matter how angry my ex and I got at one another, we never brought our children into it. Custody disputes should be resolved with both relationships intact, and that can still be done if a mother is breastfeeding exclusively. Even after our split up, I would lie on the couch with her and our son and talk to him while he nursed. He was happy, we were happy, and once he was done, I got my individual time. Selfishness has no place in parenting, and corruption and greed has no place in law. Demand accountability. Obviously there is none with this attorney as of now. Fingers crossed for the future.
Legal NIGHTMARE
If a dispute arises out of Tara’s negligent billing practices, prepare to find yourself in the middle of a legal nightmare. She will refuse to provide an explanation as to why it took her 3 months to bill you for work after telling you you owe her nothing. She will claim you never tried to communicate with her despite multiple attempts to do so with no response from her. And she will abuse legal processes to get as much money from you as she possibly can. A dispute over $300 in alleged unpaid fees that Tara refuses to try to resolve with simple communication will turn into Tara trying to extort thousands from you. She’s already been disciplined by the Virginia Bar. The documentation from that will give you an idea of the unethical and unprofessional behavior she’s apparently been engaging in throughout her legal career. She apparently learned nothing from that disciplinary experience, and clearly has no regard for The Rules of Professional Conduct that attorneys are supposed to abide by. Attorneys like her give make the legal profession look very bad. I can’t believe an attorney would risk their license over $300. Find an attorney who won’t maliciously go after their former clients whom they’ve already received almost $6,000 from over a disputed $300 without any attempt to communicate in a reasonable manner first.
Horrible do not hire
Tara took on my case during the pandemic. During 2 or 3 occasions when I tried to reach her via phone and email I was presented with an automated message informing me that she was away on travel. Why would you take my case if you planned to be unavailable due to traveling? Ironically she withdraw from my case citing her reason as I was bad at communicating with her when most of the time I could not reach her because she was away. My daughter was awarded temporary custody to her aunt until my pending custody hearing because Tara did a horrible job representing me. It’s obvious by how quick she was to withdraw that she does not care about her clients. Unfortunately most lawyers only care about money and fairfax court unfortunately does not take you seriously if you don’t have legal counseling.
She has a CRIMINAL record for child abuse...
She has a criminal record for arrest for domestic violence and felony child abuse. This lady is a pure MONSTER!!!! She was incarcerated in Douglas County Jail, Co and held without bail. She was reprimanded before that by the Bar Association. Why does she still have a license? How can someone charged with felony child abuse who served jail time be allowed around children or to advocate for them, or supervise? Very scary. Do not go near her!
Grandparent visitation
Ms. Steinnerd was very abrupt and showed no empathy. Interruptd me when I was answering questions in an authoritative tone of voice. I do not recommend her for this emotional and sensitive subject.
