Tara L. Kurtis is a member of the Intellectual Property Group. Her practice focuses on patent litigation and prosecution, particularly in the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries. She has experience handling pharmaceutical patent matters throughout all phases of litigation. A compelling writer, Tara takes complex scientific concepts and presents them in succinct, easily understable terms.
Tara also draws on her litigation experience to bring a unique perspective to her patent prosecution work, which ranges from patent claim drafting to counseling clients on patent landscapes.
Tara gained valuable experience as a 2015 Schiff Hardin summer associate and as a Judicial Extern to the Honorable Amy J. St. Eve in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois. Prior to law school, Tara performed laboratory research on nanoparticle drug delivery at Yale University.
