Victoria Williamson represents private sector and federal employees in all aspects of employment law including discrimination based on race, gender, disability, sexual orientation, pregnancy, sexual harassment and wrongful termination, as well as disciplinary matters.
She was admitted to practice in New York in 2001 and the District of Columbia in 2009. She also appears before administrative agencies including the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission and the Merit Systems Protection Board.
Prior to joining the firm, Ms. Williamson was a practicing litigator in New York City where she represented employees in discrimination and harassment cases. Additionally, while in New York, Ms. Williamson worked in the nonprofit arena, representing HIV positive persons by assisting them in obtaining proper housing, benefits, medical care and reasonable accommodations in their employment and New York City apartments.
After moving to DC, Ms. Williamson retained her civil rights focus and became a supervising attorney at DC Law Students in Court where she supervised third year law students learning to practice public interest law in DC Housing Court. Eventually, Ms. Williamson returned to private practice and focused exclusively on representing employees in discrimination and disciplinary proceedings.
When representing employees, Ms. Williamson works diligently to understand the impact of the employer’s adverse action on the employee’s professional and personal life. In doing so, she maintains a client-centered approach from the initial meeting throughout litigation.
Her focus is always on the recognition that while legal actions are pending, the client may continue to suffer undue hardships at their place of employment and as a result, in their personal lives. Her unique perspective often results in a healthy attorney/client relationship that culminates into solution-oriented results for her clients.
