Virginia B. Poynter is a practicing attorney and proud mother of four children and four grandchildren. She chose to make the Mobile area her permanent and professional home after her family was transferred to the region in 2004 by the U.S. Coast Guard.
She is the eldest of four daughters born to Leon and Pat Broadway. Her father worked as a master electrician while her mother managed the family’s electrical business.
In 1986, Ginger married her high school sweetheart, a Navy seaman who later joined the Coast Guard. Ginger spent her early adult years as a dedicated military spouse and devoted mother to her children, Robin, Christopher, Jonathan and Ashley.
Ginger earned a degree in History from Elizabeth City State University in 1997. Her immediate plans to attend law school were placed on hold while she supported her husband’s assignment to military orders at Kodiak Island, Alaska. While living on Kodiak Island, Ginger worked as a substitute teacher.
