Benjamine Reid

Benjamine Reid represents corporate clients in a broad range of litigation and appellate matters. He has extensive jury trial and appellate experience in both state and federal courts in more than 20 states. A substantial portion of his practice has involved class actions.

Ben was lead counsel for a cigarette manufacturer in a two-year class action jury trial. His appellate work has resulted in Florida’s adoption of the economic loss rule and Alabama’s application of contributory negligence in product liability cases. He was also lead counsel for a water management district for 10 years in trial and administrative procedures dealing with the Everglades clean-up project.

Ben is a frequent lecturer and author in the fields of trial advocacy and class action litigation in both the United States and Great Britain. Examples of this activity include “The Trial Lawyer as Story Teller: Reviving a Lost Art” in Litigation Magazine as well as his design and presentation of a program in London entitled “Products Over the Pond! Has U.S. Style Litigation Invaded the U.K.?” He was also a faculty member at a trial advocacy program for U.S. attorneys and British barristers at Wadham College at Oxford.
