Jim Carfagno, Jr. began his private practice in Russellville, AR in 1987. From 1984 to 1987 he was in private practice in Atlanta, GA. His earlier legal experience includes representation of consumer groups in electricity and telephone rate increase hearings before the Arkansas Public Service Commission, working as a lobbyist with the Arkansas Legislature, and serving as managing attorney for Central Arkansas Legal Services in Pine Bluff, AR.
He graduated magna cum laude from the University of Notre Dame with an engineering degree. He received his law degree from the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville. He is licensed to practice law in Arkansas, California, and Georgia.
He has been a member of the Arkansas Trial Lawyers Association, the Arkansas Bar Association, the American Bar Association, the American Association of Justice (formerly the American Trial Lawyers Association),the National Organization of Social Security Claimant’s Representatives, and the Russellville Chamber of Commerce. He has served as President of the Pope County Bar Association. He is a graduate of the National Institute for Trial Advocacy’s program in arts and skills of trial advocacy. He attends continuing legal education seminars to keep abreast of changes in the law.
He is a native of Atkins, AR and has been married to his wife, Susan Crawley Carfagno, for 30 years. They have two sons and one daughter, teach natural family planning and serve on the Board of Directors of Ol’ Shalom Ranch, Inc., a non-profit Christian ministry. Jim enjoys gardening, reading historical and classic literature, and leading religious education classes. In 2015 he served as President of People for a Better Atkins, Inc., a local civic group.
