John Yancey

John C. Yancey, managing partner of Weiner, Yancey, Dempsey & Diggs LLP, has acquired a national reputation for successfully handling complex legal matters confronted by business owners and managers.

While practicing in a general civil practice firm, John has specialized in handling business law, business litigation, real estate, estate planning and probate matters, and plaintiff’s personal injury claims. John is masterful at breaking down thorny legal issues to obtain optimum results for the client. He strives to view the legal matter from the client’s perspective by weighing the costs and benefits of any action and keeping fees reasonable and affordable.

John was born in New York City.  He graduated with honors from Georgia Tech with a B.S. in Industrial Management. He received his Juris Doctorate from Emory University School of Law and is a member of the Lawyers Club of Atlanta.

John has served as a deacon of the Peachtree Christian Church in Atlanta. This year he will be celebrating 48 years of marriage to his lovely and talented wife, Kathy Yancey. Kathy is an award winning artist whose art can be viewed in numerous institutional and corporate collections, including the High Museum of Atlanta, MOCAGO, Atlanta International Hartsfield-Jackson Airport, and the law firm of Weiner, Yancey, Dempsey & Diggs LLP.

John has two children, a daughter named Lilith Yancey Miller who is a professional actress in Atlanta and drama teacher at Trickum Middle School in Gwinnett County, and a son named Ian Yancey who graduated with Honors from Georgia Tech with a degree in Industrial and Systems Engineering and is currently a Program Manager with Emory Healthcare in Atlanta. John has been a Special Assistant Attorney General for the State of Georgia from 1985 to the present date.
