Kasie has been recognized as an attorney of the highest legal ability and ethical standards, as rated by her peers and judges. She is a former deputy public defender of the Los Angeles County Public Defender’s Office, the most established and largest government defender agency in the United States.
There, she handled a number of complex criminal cases involving serious and violent felonies, and completed dozens of jury trials and thousands of evidentiary hearings. Kasie currently runs a boutique law practice in San Francisco, California focusing exclusively on criminal defense and juvenile delinquency.
She also sits on the Bar of San Francisco’s Indigent Defense Panel and Juvenile Delinquency Appointments Panel, representing defendants in criminal cases and minors in delinquency cases who are not able to afford their own counsel.
Kasie has trained other attorneys and criminal defense investigators in California and at the national level on social media and ethics in litigation, the use of social media and the internet in criminal defense investigations, and how to raise the issue of race in courtroom settings. She has served as a speaker for the California Attorneys for Criminal Justice, the California Public Defenders Association, the Los Angeles County Bar Association, the Pacific Juvenile Defender Center, the National Juvenile Defender Center and other notable organizations.
She has also served as a criminal law expert on AM 1400, Sing Tao Chinese Radio, the largest Chinese radio broadcasting agency in the San Francisco Bay Area. Kasie has served on the Board of Governors of the Asian Pacific American Bar Association for 11 years and is a past president of the Asian Pacific Public Defenders Association of the Greater Los Angeles.
