Marcy Geller

A Partner in the Tax Department, Marcy G. Geller advises clients on tax aspects of a wide range of matters, including private investment fund formation, mergers and acquisitions, REITs and real estate transactions, joint ventures and corporate restructurings and bankruptcies. She advises private equity clients on tax matters related to formation of funds, including real estate opportunity and credit funds, and the structuring of investments by those funds.

Marcy is recognized as a leading tax lawyer by Chambers USA: America’s Leading Lawyers for Business, which noted, “She is fantastic” and that “if someone needs complex financial structuring, there is no one better.” She has presented at conferences sponsored by the Practicing Law Institute, the New York State Bar Association and the American Bar Association, among others.

Marcy received her J.D., magna cum laude, and LL.M. in Taxation from the New York University School of Law, where she was elected to the Order of the Coif, and her B.S., magna cum laude, from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania. Marcy serves on the Executive Committee of the Tax Section of the New York State Bar Association, as well as on the Tax Committee of the nonprofit Partnership for New York City. She is admitted to practice in New York.
