Mark Nelson focuses his practice on real estate law, including handling acquisitions, dispositions, and development matters. He has worked with many types of real estate, including hotel, resort, office, retail, industrial, multifamily, condominium, and mixed use projects.
Mark also structures, negotiates, and documents complex real estate construction and permanent financings, as well as complex loan asset sales, loan workouts, foreclosures, and deeds-in-lieu of foreclosure. He represents institutional and private clients, including life insurance companies, major domestic and foreign banks, developers, and investment advisers. Among his clients are Cornerstone Real Estate Advisers and Westport Capital Partners.
Mark and his team, representing six lenders, have closed more than 100 affordable housing financing transactions over the past five years (including both construction and permanent financing transactions, tax exempt multifamily bond purchases, and 4 and 9 percent credit transactions).
Mr. Nelson is a frequent speaker at the Los Angeles County Bar Association and other continuing education programs.
