Sergio Athanasso joined Fragomen as an Associate in the firm’s Washington, DC office in 2015. His practice primarily focuses on assisting foreign nationals with applying for H-1B and L-1 nonimmigrant visas and various immigrant visa matters, including EB-1C, EB-2 and EB-3 visas. He also has experience responding to complex Requests for Evidence.
Sergio has provided pro bono immigration legal services and family law services. He has helped low-income immigrants facing persecution, abuse and extreme hardship to obtain deportation relief and benefits in the United States, such as cancellation of removal, asylum, adjustment of status, employment authorization, waiver of inadmissibility, Special Immigrant Juvenile Status (SIJS) and self-petition under the Violence Against Women Act (VAWA).
Sergio speaks English and Spanish and has written proficiency in Arabic.
