Zachary Pratt heads Goldberg Segalla’s workers’ compensation practice in Albany. He has extensive experience representing employers, insurance carriers, and third-party administrators before the New York State Workers’ Compensation Board and in traditional federal workers’ compensation litigation, and is involved in every aspect of the workers’ compensation claim process, from intake through resolution.
As an integral part of the firm’s workers’ compensation team — which offers a holistic approach to the practice — Zach crafts cost-effective, efficient solutions to his clients’ legal challenges in order to maximize long-term savings beyond closure of the immediate matter.
Zach also designed and oversees the firm’s Integrated Disability and Workforce Management Program, which offers clients a cross-disciplinary, holistic, and maximally cost-effective suite of solutions to workers’ compensation and employment and labor needs.
In addition to workers’ compensation litigation, Zach represents employers in all manner of employment and labor disputes. He has defended dozens of employers against discrimination and retaliation claims, and has handled discrimination and harassment claims under Section 120 of the New York State Workers’ Compensation Law, as well as claims under the Jones Act and The Longshore and Harbor Workers’ Compensation Act (LHWCA).
Zach also handles personal injury cases and complex commercial and insurance matters. As a counselor and litigator, Zach represents clients before the Supreme Court of the State of New York; the Appellate Division, Third Department; state and federal administrative agencies; and in various arbitration proceedings.
