Joseph M. Moore is a Director in the Litigation Practice Group. His diverse practice is focused in the areas of premises liability, trucking litigation, personal injury, and commercial disputes. Mr. Moore has handled every phase of the litigation process, from investigation through discovery and trial.
He also has extensive experience handling mediations and other forms of alternative dispute resolution. Mr. Moore regularly practices in all state courts in Virginia as well as the Eastern and Western Districts of Virginia.
He has also argued appellate matters before the Supreme Court of Virginia and the United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit. Mr. Moore has been recognized as a “Rising Star” in Law & Politics magazine’s list of Virginia Super Lawyers since 2008 as well as a “Future Litigation Star” in Benchmark Litigation’s 2015 edition.
Mr. Moore is an active member of ALFA International and serves on the Steering Committees for the Transportation Group and Retail and Hospitality Group. He has spoken at several ALFA conferences and his articles regarding fraudulent joinder and removal have been published in ALFA’s Transportation Update.
He has also been a presenter for the National Business Institute and is actively involved in the Richmond Bar Association. Mr. Moore was born in Cooperstown, New York and earned his undergraduate degree, cum laude in politics from Ithaca College.
He then attended Syracuse University College of Law where he graduated cum laude. In his spare time, Mr. Moore enjoys playing golf, politics and spending time with his wife, Jennifer, his son Jacob, and his daughter Macie.
